Iran's Raisi Receives Warm Welcome from Kenya on Africa Tour

Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi was greeted with a red-carpet welcome in Kenya on Wednesday, the first stop on his tour of Africa. Kenyan President William Ruto received Raisi at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Nairobi, where the two leaders held a closed-door meeting.
The meeting between Raisi and Ruto is significant as it marks the first visit by an Iranian president to Kenya in over a decade. The two countries have been seeking to strengthen their diplomatic and economic ties, and the visit is expected to boost cooperation in various sectors.
During the visit, Raisi is expected to meet with other Kenyan officials and business leaders. He is also scheduled to visit Zambia and Tanzania, as part of his effort to expand Iran's influence in Africa.
